The new OCTAVIA iV as well as the electric ENYAQ come with a sophisticated security feature that guards against amplifying the signal. For the key to be present, certain conditions must be satisfied.
1. Check the battery
The battery in the key is most likely to be the reason behind your car not starting. The battery in the key fob is the same as the one in your digital camera or phone and will eventually get depleted. The most straightforward solution in this situation is to replace your battery. If skoda kodiaq replacement key doesn't work you, try reprogramming the key. To do this, turn on the ignition, and then put the key inside the ignition. Press the unlock button on the remote control two times, with a gap of one second between each press. Repeat this process for the number of remotes that you need to program (up to 4).
You can also try replacing the circuit board in the key itself. It's expensive however it could fix the problem. However it is important to keep in mind that this method isn't certain to work because it is contingent on a variety of factors.
Another possibility is that the fob wasn't authenticated. This could be due to a number of reasons, including someone else nearby pressed their own button, another device sent a signal simultaneously and the key was protected, etc. This is more likely when the vehicle has recently been reprogrammed or changed to a different key.
In the more modern cars, such as the Octavia VRS and ENYAQ iV, there's no requirement to press the key fob button - if the key is within range of the antennas (located in the door handles), the car will unlock automatically. The system is designed in this way because it is crucial to ensure that only the owner is able to drive the vehicle. This minimizes the possibility of a car being locked. However, it is recommended to lock the car by hand using the key. If the key isn't kept in your pocket, there is a safety feature that stops the car from starting, even if you've switched on the ignition.
2. Check the key
If a key fob isn't recognized by the car, it's most likely to be due to a problem with the key itself. In some cases this can be corrected by replacing the battery. In other cases the circuits or buttons of the key could be damaged. In this case, the key will need to be replaced.
Modern keys do not come with any mechanical lock cylinders They are all electronically controlled. The system operates as follows when the key is held against the handle (or in the boot lock button that is only available on the latest models) it sends an electronic signal to the car, which activates the antennas that are located in the front doors. The antennas scan the area surrounding the vehicle for the key signal and, as soon as they detect one, they contact the car. This is how the doors are opened and, if the system is configured to do so, the "welcome light" is turned on.
If the key is not recognized, a message is displayed on the infotainment display saying "key not recognised". This could be due to various reasons, including another person pressing the key simultaneously, a mobile sending an alert or the key not being partially covered.

The latest generation of keyless unlocking - fitted to cars such as the fourth-generation OCTAVIA and the ENYAQ iV - removes the requirement for this trigger by automatically scanning the surroundings by using the antennas located in the front doors when the driver's seat is in use. Doors will open and welcome lights will turn on when the car is able to verify that the key is correct. It's important to note, though, that this function will only be active if the conditions are met: The driver's seat must be in use, the seat belt must be fastened and the brake must be engaged. If any of these criteria are not met the key will not be detected by the system and the engine will not start. The "key not recognized" warning light will remain on your dashboard.
4. Check the door locks
If your car doesn't unlock after pressing the unlock button, it's probably time to examine the locks. You can do this by using a small edge, such as a screwdriver, to remove any plastic coverings on the door handle. Insert the key, turn it and the door will open.
If the door lock is functioning properly, there is a small sensor that detects when the key is close and then sends a signal to the car to unlock or lock. If this isn't working, it could be due to a problem with the lock cylinder itself, or possibly the electronic component. The best option is to contact a locksmith in your area, they can tell you exactly what the problem is.
